1953-1962 C1 Replacement Chassis

Only from Street Shop, we offer a new "mandrel formed" replacement chassis for your 1953-62 Corvette and is designed to fit under the stock floor-pan. This chassis utilizes the C4 1989-96 Corvette suspension, drastically improving handling and braking capability. Designed around the car's original features, this chassis allows you to "bolt on" your original body with only minor modification to your C1 Corvette body *.

* Requires trimming the lower edge of the front INNER fender panels, and a clearance notch must be made in the leading edge of the spare tire well below the trunk floor.

The process of mandrel bending our 4"x2"x0.120" wall steel tubing maintains the dimension of the tubing, thereby providing the maximum amount of stregth from the finished frame rail. These one-piece, formed rectangular rails are very rigid and lightweight. The end result is a frame that weighs slightly less than the original, but also one that resists the twisting and flexing common to these cars.

All chassis are finished in durable semi-gloss black powder coating and feature stock mounting for the bumpers and body. Engine and transmission mounts, which are capable of many engine / transmission combinations, are side mount style with a removable crossmember. Engine location is lower than stock to enhance handling by achieving a lower center of gravity. Coil-over shocks are used at each wheel and provide a completely adjustable ride, while a power rack and pinion steering unit is included for quick and responsive steering.
